Hartfield & District Horticultural Society
Hartfield & District  Horticultural Society

Situated on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, The village of Hartfield has run a local society for enthusiastic gardeners since 1861.  Today, the Hartfield and District Horticultural Society continues to promote an interest in horticulture, running a number of events through the year of interest to gardeners, and aiming to encourage more people to grow for pleasure, for the table and for the show bench.  Regular events include:

  • Hartfield Open Gardens in June
  • A trip to one of the RHS gardens
  • Annual Flower Show on the 1st Saturday in September, combined with the Village Fete, including classes for vegetables, flowers, flower arranging, cookery, art and craft and childrens' classes.
  • Various other talks, demonstrations and visits through the year.

Members of the Society enjoy discounts at a number of local nurseries and other establishments.

Details of how to join the Society are on the Membership page.  Alternatively get in touch and join us for one of our events, which are open to members and non members.

The Society is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society.
